What is Reeve?
Reeve is an AI business operating system. It connects to your tools — Shopify, Stripe, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, Klaviyo, Slack — and gives you AI agents that monitor, analyze, and take action across your entire business.
Instead of switching between dashboards, you ask Reeve questions in plain language and get answers backed by your live data.
Who is Reeve for?
Reeve is built for business owners, marketers, and operators — people who manage e-commerce stores, run ad campaigns, send email newsletters, or handle customer support. You don't need to be technical to use it.
How is Reeve different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a general-purpose chat tool. Reeve is purpose-built for business operations:

Is Reeve open source?
Yes. The Reeve gateway is open source at github.com/MindFortressInc/reeve. You can self-host it on your own infrastructure. We also offer managed cloud plans for teams who don't want to run a server.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?
The Free plan is free forever with no credit card required. You can upgrade to Pro anytime.
Do I need my own AI API keys?
On Free and Pro plans, you bring your own LLM API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.). On Team and Cloud plans, managed API access is available. See API Keys.

Can I use Reeve on my phone?
Yes. Reeve works through messaging apps you already have:

Does Reeve work for agencies managing multiple brands?
Yes. Reeve supports multi-brand mode — each brand gets its own connectors, dashboards, and agent context. Manage all your clients from a single account.
Data & Privacy
How is my data handled?
- Connector data is fetched live — Reeve queries your platforms in real time. It doesn't store copies of your Shopify orders, ad metrics, or email stats.
- Conversation history stays local — Chat history and memory files live in your Reeve workspace, on your device or server.
- API keys are encrypted at rest — Keys stored through the Cockpit are encrypted before storage.
Is my data sent to AI providers?
When you ask Reeve a question, your message and any data retrieved from your connectors are sent to your configured LLM provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) for processing. This is standard for any AI assistant.
If you need data to stay fully on-premises, configure Reeve to use local models — nothing leaves your device.
Can I self-host Reeve?
Yes. The open-source gateway runs on macOS, Linux, or Windows (WSL2). See the CLI Getting Started guide.

What are the system requirements?
Desktop App:

How do I update Reeve?
- Desktop App — Updates automatically on launch. Restart the app to apply.
- CLI — Run

Messaging & Channels
Will Reeve message my contacts without permission?
No. Reeve uses a pairing system — any new contact who messages you gets a pairing code back. The agent only responds after you approve the pairing. Reeve never initiates unsolicited messages.
Can multiple people on my team share one Reeve?
Yes. On Team plans, team members each get their own login with role-based access. For messaging channel access, multi-agent routing lets different users interact with different agents through the same account.
