Desktop App Quick Start
Get the Reeve Desktop App installed and running on your Mac. No terminal or technical setup required.
Requirements
- macOS 12 or later
- Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel Mac
- An internet connection
Download
Go to meetreeve.com and click Download for Mac.
Choose the right version for your Mac:
- Apple Silicon — If your Mac was made in 2020 or later, this is probably you
- Intel — Older Macs (pre-2020)
Not sure? Click → About This Mac → check the Chip line.
Install
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile - Drag the Reeve icon to the Applications folder
- Open Applications and double-click Reeve (or search with Spotlight: ⌘ + Space → "Reeve")
macOS Gatekeeper warning? If macOS says the app "can't be opened," right-click the app → Open → Open again. This only happens once — the app is signed and notarized.
Sign In
On first launch:
- The Reeve engine starts automatically (you'll see a brief loading screen)
- A browser window opens for sign-in
- Sign in with Google, a magic link, or email + password
After authentication, the Cockpit opens in the app window. You're in.
Connect Your First Data Source
Click Connectors in the sidebar and connect a platform:

Click Connect, authorize on the platform, and data starts flowing.
Ask Your First Question
Go to Chat in the sidebar and try:
"Give me a business summary."
"How did revenue look this week?"
"What are my top-selling products?"
Reeve pulls live data from your connected platforms and responds with actionable insights.
What You'll See
Menu Bar
Reeve adds an icon to your Mac's menu bar for quick access:
- Click the icon to show/hide the app window
- Right-click for options: status, restart gateway, quit
The Cockpit
The main app window is the Cockpit — your command center:
- Dashboard — Unified KPIs from all connected data sources
- Chat — Conversations with your AI agents
- Connectors — Manage your platform connections
- Mission Control — Monitor active sessions and goals
- Settings — Configure models, agents, and billing
Auto-Updates
The app checks for updates on launch. When an update is available, you'll see a notification — click to install and restart.

Troubleshooting

| App won't open | Right-click → Open → Open (Gatekeeper bypass) |
| Blank window | Delete ~/Library/Application Support/Reeve and relaunch |
| Sign-in not working | Try a different auth method (Google vs magic link) |
| Gateway not starting | Restart the app; check Console.app for errors |
